Harrison C. Stackpole
Harrison grew up in Erie, Pennsylvania, and is now a resident of Macomb Township. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, worked on the campus newspaper (The Pitt News) and was a d.j. and sportscaster for the campus radio station. While attending law school at the University of Detroit, he was named the best oral advocate on an implied contract problem in the mandatory Moot Court Competition. He graduated a semester early, in 1985, and passed the bar in July, 1986.
In law school, Harrison volunteered as a legal aid for a senior citizens’ clinic, and later worked in private practice for two smaller insurance defense firms. Harrison joined Ogne, Alberts & Stuart in April, 1995, and became a partner in 2000. He is in charge of general practice matters for the firm, and his emphasis is on business law, estate planning, probate, family law, criminal law, and sports law.
Harrison has been a mediator in various capacities since the 1990’s. Additionally, he serves as General Counsel for the Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association and Golf Association of Michigan, where he is also a Governor. He is a certified domestic relations mediator. He also has an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, and a certificate in General Insurance Principles.
Harrison is married and has three bulldogs. He is a member of the Burning Tree Country Club, Assistant Coach of the Dakota High School Women’s Golf Team, and Volunteer Assistant Golf Coach at Fairfield University in Connecticut, for both the men’s and women’s teams.
